Year 14 Vocational Study Programme at Hobby Craft Distribution Centre
Our Year 14 Vocational Study Programme gives students a valuable opportunity to learn real-world work skills in a supportive environment. The programme takes place at the Hobby Craft Distribution Centre and helps students get ready for life after school.
What does the programme include?
Students attend the placement three days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
They also work towards the ASDAN Employability qualification, which helps build important life and work skills.
What will students do?
Students take part in different jobs across the distribution centre.
They learn how the workplace runs and what different roles involve.
They get support from staff and learn through hands-on experience and structured lessons.
What skills will students develop?
Communication – talking and listening clearly
Teamwork – working well with others
Time management – being on time and staying organised
Problem-solving – finding solutions when things go wrong
Adaptability – coping with change and trying new things
These skills help students feel more confident and ready for the world of work.
What are the outcomes?
Many students who have completed the programme have gone on to get part-time jobs, some have been directly employed by the Hobbycraft Distribution Centre. This shows how useful and practical the programme is in helping young people move from education into employment.
