Curriculum Pathways

Kaleidoscope, Mosaic, and Nexus

We support every child to grow in confidence, build strong relationships, and develop the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through a curriculum focused on:

Kind Hearts   (Relatedness)

Building relationships, empathy, and social skills.

 Wise Minds   (Competence)

Developing academic, practical, and problem-solving skills

Brave Souls
(Skills to Succeed)

Encouraging choice, independence, and self-advocacy.

These are embedded across all subjects, from English and Maths to Forest School and Life Skills, ensuring a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum. Our core values, Kind Hearts, Wise Minds, and Brave Souls, are a direct embodiment of Self-Determination Theory, nurturing relatedness, competence, and autonomy in every learner.

Kaleidoscope Pathway

This pathway is designed for our children with complex and/ or significant learning needs. Like a kaleidoscope, their learning journey is incredibly personal, vibrant, and ever-changing. It's an experiential offer, full of shifting patterns and rich sensory engagement, celebrating each child's unique way of seeing and interacting with the world.

Mosaic Pathway

The Mosaic pathway caters to our students with severe learning difficulties. Just like an artful mosaic is created by carefully arranging individual pieces, this pathway focuses on methodically gathering and integrating foundational skills and understandings. It builds a clear and stable base, valuing the beauty and importance of each carefully placed element in their learning.

Nexus Pathway

Our Nexus pathway is for students with more moderate learning needs. A nexus is a central point where connections are made, and this pathway perfectly represents where students actively bring together a wide range of diverse skills, knowledge, and experiences. It becomes a junction where learning culminates, forging multiple pathways forward and leading to greater independence and varied future possibilities.
