Welcome to Fountains Post-16

Fountains Post-16 is our Year 12 to Year 14 provision based within a designated area of Burton and South Derbyshire College.  Students who attend this setting move from the Fountains site at Stretton and attend our five-day provision within the college building.

Since moving from school to the college in September 2020, we have been proud to offer young people a supportive and inclusive environment right in the heart of Burton town centre.

Being based in the college brings many benefits. Our students are part of a wider community, with access to real-life opportunities and experiences that help them prepare for adulthood. The central location also means excellent transport links, making it easier for students to travel independently and take part in community life.

At Post 16, our focus is on helping young people build the skills and confidence they need to become as independent as possible. We support every learner to achieve their personal goals, whether that’s developing life skills, gaining work experience, or learning how to make choices for their future.

Everything we do is guided by our values: Kind Hearts, Wise Minds and Brave Souls. We encourage our young people to be kind to themselves and others, to think and learn with curiosity and wisdom, and to have the courage to try new things and step forward into adulthood with confidence.

Our setting is designed to be safe, welcoming, and SEND-friendly, with staff who understand the individual needs of each young person. We work closely with families, carers, and professionals to make sure every learner has the right support to succeed.

Together, we aim to prepare our young people for adulthood -with confidence, independence, and pride in what they can achieve.
