Destinations

Fountains High School works with a diverse range of post-16 and post-19 providers to ensure that young people are able to access destinations that match their individual needs, aspirations and preparation for adulthood outcomes. Students have progressed to specialist post-16 provision, further education colleges, supported internships, employment and bespoke life-skills programmes. Current destinations demonstrate a wide range of opportunities including functional skills, vocational learning, independence programmes, supported employment and specialist education settings, enabling learners to continue developing their skills, independence and career aspirations beyond Fountains.

Fountains High School is committed to ensuring that every young person moves on to a destination that reflects their individual strengths, interests and aspirations. In 2025-26, 93.8% of students secured a positive destination in education or training and 6.2% of students moved into employment.

Destination providers include Fountains Post-16 @ BSDC, Burton and South Derbyshire College, Broomfield Hall, Leek College, NASAI Academy, Mencap Supported Internship, Transition Two and other specialist education providers.

This breadth of provision ensures that students can continue to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adult life, employment and community participation.
