Discover The Mencap Training Academy's supported internship and pre-internship programmes for young people with an EHCP in Staffordshire.

The Mencap Training Academy is hosting an open day for people to learn about our supported internship and pre-internship programmes in Staffordshire which is recruiting learners for the 2027/28 academic year.

The Supported Internship programme is open to young people aged 16-24 who have a current EHCP and who want to find a job.

We help them to do this by teaching them about the world of work and supporting them to complete exciting work experience opportunities with a wide range of employers.

In Staffordshire, we work with companies like GXO logistics, ESS Support Services, Holland and Barrett and Greene King. A variety of programme placements run from the Stafford, Whittington, Lichfield, Burton and Tamworth areas.

This event is for young people who may be interested in joining the programme, as well as their parents/carers and other professionals working with young people with SEND. The event will provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the programme and to ask questions of our team in Staffordshire.

The event will be held at our premises in Lichfield. The address is:

Units E and F, Stowe Court, Stowe Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6AQ

There is limited parking at Stowe Court. However, free parking is available at Tesco for up to 3 hours, or there are pay and display near by car parks. The Tesco is at Church St, Lichfield WS13 6DZ.
